While we were in Duluth, we were starting to see the leaves turning to Fall colors. Who knew Minnesota was so beautiful? Although it's time to start making our way west, we make one more stop in Minnesota to see Fall colors in all their glory.
La Salle Lake State Recreation Area has a great campground that is close to Itasca State Park, home of the Headwaters of the Mississippi River and some beautiful fall foliage.
Note: Any stories you hear about Minnesota mosquitos are true...the most voracious buggers we've seen in years!
While Tom was setting up his tripod and the shot below, Wendy was running interference and slapping as many mosquitos as possible off of Tom's legs. she probably picked off a couple dozen in a matter of minutes, but Tom still had a large number of bites all over the legs!
