Missouri

We started on our trek north (to get away from the heat) several weeks ago. Unfortunately, Tom has noticed that the engine air conditioning isn't working, so we're making a stop here in Hollister, MO to get it fixed. We're staying at the Escapees' Turkey Creek RV Park.

Hollister is just across the White River from Branson, MO. Branson is a tourist destination with a multitude of theaters with a country theme. We avoided the theaters but did take a walk along the White River at Branson Landing.

After getting the air conditioning fixed, we head off to our next stop outside of St. Louis. Funny thing
though, the air conditioning doesn't feel as cold today as it did yesterday. We turn around and head back to Branson Motor Coach. They find that the shavings from the compressor are more extensive than originally thought. It's now Friday, and they won't be able to get the part in until Monday, so we find a place to stay at America's Best Campground.

To Branson Motor Coach's credit, they do the repair in one day at no extra charge, and we are on our way again on Monday. Next stop is 370 Lakeside Park outside of St. Louis.

We picked this camping spot because it is close to the Gateway Arch National Park in St. Louis.

There is also a riverboat cruise down the Mississippi River that well worth taking.

Dinner at your traditional St. Louis kimchee diner topped off our day. Had to try it because of the novelty. Disappointing as far as kimchee/Korean food goes...certainly not competition for YD Tofu House in Rancho Cordova.
